Would you like to know more about Sunvest and our projects? Below we answer the most frequently asked questions.
Sunvest is a Dutch-French project developer that builds and operates solar parks of at least 20-hectare in the Netherlands, Belgium and France. We work together with landowners, farmers, municipalities and departments. In this way we demonstrate our interest in a sustainable living environment. Our offices are located in Utrecht and Boves.
At Sunvest, we believe in well-funded projects. That is the reason behind our success. We have experience in the Netherlands and we have the best partners in the Benelux region and in France. In short, it costs you nothing as a land, we rent your land and you earn an income. If you want to finance your own project, we can offer you design, installation and maintenance at market competitive prices.
Yes, Sunvest runs commercial solar energy projects. Depending on the country, revenues are generated from the sale of "clean" electricity and sometimes from government subsidy programmes. These revenues help cover the costs of managing and maintaining the projects and repaying investors. In addition, Sunvest retains a profit, which allows the company to continue to exist.
All our systems are of excellent quality and will last for at least 25 years. We work with long warranty periods (20 years for the inverters and 25 years for the solar panels). If necessary, Sunvest will dismantle all the solar panels and infrastructure after this 25-year construction period and return everything to its original state.
Solar panels require a certain maintenance, which is why it is important to have staff on site at all times. Sunvest will install a monitoring system on each project, allowing our Sunvest maintenance team to monitor all projects remotely. In general, a general maintenance check is carried out once a year.
There is a misconception that landowners who wish to build solar farms must choose between renewable energy production and agricultural or food production. Both are entirely possible. Not all of the earth's surface is occupied by solar panels. Sunvest is investigating whether there are other ways to use solar parks in the future, for example for crop production under and between the solar panels. We are working with landowners to do this.
In the unlikely event that the solar panels are damaged or cause damage to your property, Sunvest is committed to repairing the damage. This will be done in consultation with a local Sunvest engineer. All Sunvest projects are insured. As a result, we know with certainty that the solar panels will generate electricity for a long life of 25 years.
Sunvest uses only silicon solar panels. Silicon is non-toxic and fully recyclable.
There are solar panels on the market that may contain hazardous chemicals such as cadmium. Therefore, always check with your supplier to find out what type of panels are used. Due to performance and reliability, Sunvest only recommends the use of silicon solar panels.
The solar panels used in solar power plants do not produce any noise. The transformers and inverters make little noise when the sun shines and the energy produced is converted into electricity. However, the transformers and inverters are placed in such an isolated that they cannot be heard by people in their homes.
The purpose of a solar farm is to produce as much solar energy as possible by capturing the sun's radiation. To maximise the production of solar energy, Sunvest uses solar panels with an anti-reflective coating. This ensures that the maximum amount of sunlight is captured. In addition, the solar panels are placed at a flat angle of 10 to 12 degrees (depending on the country), so that any remaining reflection will go straight up. Trees and plants are used to hide the solar panels from view.

Sunvest develops natural solar parks with the ambition to preserve and increase the value of nature with its ecological solar parks. For each new Sunvest solar park plan, the area is researched by an ecologist and a landscape architect. The ecologists investigate whether any plants, animals or protected areas could be affected by the construction of the solar park. They are also investigating how a solar park can increase biodiversity and bring back native wildlife through park design, use of green spaces and plants, and management of green spaces.
The energy yield of a solar farm depends on several factors, such as the layout of the solar panels, the number of panels that can be placed on the plot and also the location of the solar farm. The energy yield is often quoted per hectare. For instance in the Netherlands, an average of 1.2 million kWh is produced each year per hectare! The annual electricity consumption of an average household is about 3000 kWh. One hectare can therefore produce enough electricity to power almost 400 households for a whole year!
Solar panels do not emit CO2 and solar parks can actually save a lot of CO2. In a solar park, energy is produced in a clean and sustainable way instead of, for example, in coal-fired power plants. For every kWh that a solar park produces and returns to an energy supplier, 728 grams of CO2 emissions are avoided compared to a coal-fired power plant. In other words, a 10-hectare solar park can easily save 8,300 kilos of CO2 emissions!
Sunvest considers it very important that the local area is involved in the development of the solar park and can also benefit from it. That's why Sunvest always works together with a local energy cooperative and all kinds of initiatives are designed for the surrounding area. Sunvest supports community funds that organise local initiatives for the community.
Sunvest solar parks use high quality silicon (glass) panels. Sunvest panels do not contain any harmful substances that could be released into the ground when it rains. During the development of the solar park, a budget is set aside for its clean-up at the end of its life. The construction and removal of the park will be carried out by the mother company ProfiNRG. Sunvest and ProfiNRG guarantee that the cabling, transformers, solar panels and inverters will be properly and environmentally handled. If they can no longer be used, they are recycled. This means that no material is ever left on the plot and the land can be used for its initial activity again.
Sunvest uses high-quality solar panels, transformers and inverters in its solar parks. As a result, the radiation from the solar panels is no higher than that from many electronic devices in your house. All transformers and inverters are placed at a considerable distance from homes and sensitive destinations, which means that the electromagnetic fields from the solar parks remain well below the exposure limit set by the government. Therefore, there is no radiation effect and many solar parks are accessible to the public.

Sunvest wants to make a contribution to combating global warming and the decline in biodiversity. We want to make our contribution by developing and operating so-called “Nature Inlcusive Solar Parks”. These are parks that provide green energy and contribute to improving local biodiversity. This means that we develop parks with a careful integration into the landscape, paying a lot of attention to the development of flora and fauna that are specific to the area.
